Technology in primary education

Technology?Well..that's sounds familiar (but how much I know about it?).That would be a BIG question that I kept thinking about in the class. No doubt, this worries me a lot. However, I knew things will get better when I first met the lecturer; Prof.Dr. Raja Maznah and the tutors. So, this is the time where I can discover lots of things about technology in education and preparing myself to be a SMART teacher in future. I agree with Prof. that " SMART teachers can only be trained to be ready through a total immersion in technology-based learning environment."A teacher is a fountain of knowledge.Hence, with the help of technology, knowledge will be in our hands. The very first day was a good start for me as I learnt something new.PLEaSE.Was it just a please?(that's the first question came up).Well, PLEaSE is not just a please but there's something about it attracts me: Personalize Learning Environment and Student Engagement. There were 2 important words there; Personalize and Engagement. What I could say about these two words is that by personalizing the environment, only then student's engagement will get to the maximum. Students enter classroom with a bagful of experience. Applying PLEaSE will definitely allow them to relate their experiences to what they are learning. I am sure students will engage a lot and learn meaningfully and effectively in the classroom.

hye hedayah..

you are focusing on 2 important words- personalize and engagement.
I agree that students should be given personalized learning environment. They will have self-awareness and self-responsibility towards their learning.how about weak students? do we have to give them opportunity to have personalized learning environment too?hehehe

to yana,i think it's applicable. When weak students concerned,we have to let them explore tings that are suitable with their cognitive ability. That's where group work and cooperative learning take place =)
